Project Background

The BOSCO Refugee Assistance Project, in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), focuses on supporting urban refugees and asylum seekers from various countries including Afghanistan, Myanmar, Somalia, Sudan, Eritrea, DRC, Iran, Iraq, and Palestine. The project covers diverse areas such as livelihood, health, psychosocial support, child protection, and community mobilization among others.

Job Description

The psychologist will play a crucial role in providing counseling and therapy to refugees and asylum seekers. Collaborating closely with other teams, the psychologist will ensure the success of the project by maintaining records, data, and actively participating in various activities for the refugees and asylum seekers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide counseling support to refugees and asylum seekers.
Conduct psychological and psychiatric assessments following UNHCR standards.
Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions.
Establish rapport and refer cases to appropriate mental health facilities.
Conduct regular follow-ups through home and community visits for case management.
Plan interventions in consultation with the psychosocial coordinator.
Conduct trainings as required for refugees and asylum seekers.
Provide emergency interventions for self-approach cases.
Maintain daily updates of records, data, and reports.
