BloodConnect Foundation was started in 2010 with the mission of Making India Blood Sufficient through Voluntary Blood Donation. Over the last 11 years, we have organized 1300+ camps, and collected 120000+ blood units, saving 360,000 lives. Through our 1000+ awareness events, we have reached more than 15 million people, making them aware of the cause. However, the mission of Blood Sufficient India is still far, there is a shortage of few million units every year, and it is still one of the least discussed social issue.
In an attempt to reach more people and sustain our current operations, we rely on funds from individuals and organizations. We are 100% volunteer run organization, means our funding is primarily used for conducting events like Blood Donation Camps.
2020 and 2021 were challenging years for almost everyone, millions of people died due to pandemic. There were also people who were struggling for life not because of Corona virus but because of unavailability of blood. We are a country of over Thalassemia Major citizens who need blood every 4-6 weeks for the survival. During these difficult times, our team had just one thought in mind: How to save a life? In 2021, we organized highest ever, 225 blood donation camps in a year and reached out to 4 million people through 138 online and offline awareness events.
In 2022, our aim is to organize 300+ blood donation camps, and reach out to 10 million people to create awareness about the importance of the voluntary blood donation, and ready future blood donors.
