Hitesh Pandya, an additional public relations officer (PRO) in the chief minister's office (CMO), resigned from his post on Friday. His son, Amit Pandya, was summoned for questioning in the case involving Kiran Patel pretending to be a PMO official.
Sources in the government said Hitesh Pandya had been asked to relinquish his post after the summoning of his son Amit Pandya in the Kiran Patel case. Patel has been arrested by the Jammu & Kashmir police for impersonation and other charges.
A former journalist from Rajkot, Hitesh Pandya had been working in the Gujarat CMO for about two decades. Pandya met CM Bhupendra Patel on Friday and handed over his resignation.
