- Early life and education: Jignesh Mevani was born on December 11, 1980, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He is a Dalit, and his family comes from the village of Meu in Mehsana district. Mevani studied at the Swastik Vidyalaya and Vishwa Vidyalay Madhaymik Shala in Ahmedabad. He then went on to study law at the Gujarat University.

Mevani's arrest sparked widespread protests across India, and many people saw it as an attempt to silence his voice. The charges against him were eventually dropped, but the incident highlighted the challenges that Dalit activists face in India.
Mevani is a controversial figure, but there is no doubt that he is a powerful voice for Dalit rights. He is a fearless advocate for the marginalized, and he is not afraid to speak truth to power. His work is essential to building a more just and equitable society in India.
